This is sickening yet true.
The US government admits to killing over a million wild animals, such as foxes, lions, bears, wolves and cougars, each year.
Don’t you believe me?
Check out the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s own reports, where it states that over 34 million animals were killed in the last ten years alone.
According to USDA’s 2017 program reports, in 2017 the agency killed over 1.3 million native, wild animals. That figure includes:
- 624,845 red-winged blackbirds
- 23,646 beavers
- 69,041 coyotes
- 15,933 prairie dogs
- 3,827 foxes
- 1,001 bobcats
- 675 river otters
- 552 black bears
- 357 gray wolves
- 319 mountain lions
To make things worse, the above figures don’t even reflect the actual number of animals killed. According to the whistle-blowing former employees of the so-called “Wildlife Services” program of the USDA (couldn’t they choose a more ironic name?), they were instructed to report way less animals than they truly killed.
